Land Plot for Sale

THE PLOT IS PLACED ONLY 600 M FROM THE BEACH OF KOLYMVARI AND ITS TOTAL SIZE IS 819.11 M² AND ONE CAN BUILD UP TO 400 M². Kolymvari is a new village which is mentioned for the first time in the census of 1900. The village is located on the western edge of the gulf of Chania. The Turks landed on the sandy beach of the settlement in 1645, starting the Great Cretan War, which led to the conquest of Crete. Timoleon Vassos landed in the same position in 1897 with two battalions of infantry, one engineer, one company of euzones and a mountain artillery to occupy Crete. This landing became the occasion for the declaration of the Greek-Turkish war of 1897.
