Building for Sale

For sale building in the center of Heraklion, neoclassic, preservable, 407sqm, extends in three levels. Basement 93sqm, ground floor 157sqm, 1st floor 157sqm and yard 50sqm. It is a building of late Neoclassicism, a former French Institute, one of the 82 buildings that have been classified as the newest monuments of the city of Heraklion as being listed as the new Monument Service. The structure of the facade has been made with strict axes of symmetry. Of particular interest is the formation of the middle section of the main face, where on the ground floor and on the floor there is formed an epistyle with Doric and Ionic columns respectively, while the end crowned with a pediment. Also interesting is the iron door of the Art Nouveau entrance door and the toothed ribbon of the entablature that faces the view. The frames of the openings are curved and hinged and the window aprons are decorated with rosettes. For many years the French Institute was housed there, and then it was rented for various uses: a shop with clothes, a pizzeria, a beer house, and restaurants.
