An imposing three storey stone house, which you can be rebuilt to high standards. This is a magnificent structure built in 1880 and still standing. It is a rare building and you will hardly find stone houses that big throughout the whole of Evia.

Located in the middle of the village of Argyro, the position is dominant overlooking the valley and fields of Argyro plains. It is walking distance to the local taverns, It is an 8 minutes drive from Zarakes and 10-15 drive from the beaches of Koskina, Port Buffalo, and Zarakes beach in the Aegean sea. The village is a very quiet place with 2 taverns and a grocery store. The area is full of old houses and ruins, waiting for their new owners to bring them back to life.

The house itself has two full floors and a semi-ground floor compartment which could serve as an extra helping room such as storage or sauna. The top floor was built in majestic grandeur as it belonged to the local priest. High ceilings up to 3,5m, tall room doors and 50cm thick stone wall, the house is a typical 1800’s house built to the highest standard of the time. Just next to the main building you will find an extra building of approx. 50m2 formerly used as an animal shelter which could also be converted to an extra room with it’s own facilities. The main building used to have 9-13 rooms and approx. 5-6 bedrooms, although the composition and arrangement could vary when rebuilt.

The first floor is accessed by an external cement staircase with access from the ground floor yard. The ground floor has access directly from the yard. The current type of the house could be described as a duplex with separate entrance to each floor, but this could be altered with an interior staircase connecting at least the two top floors.

The one side of the wall has partially collapsed but the main frame of the building including the immaculate cornerstone walls, are still intact. An ideal restoration project for aspiring architects or inspirational owners, you can definitely fully-restore the whole house.
