Land Plot for Sale

Two plots are for sale in TH, in the Municipality of Chania. The price refers to each plot, but one can buy them together. Each plot has an area of 1050m² and can build up to 400m². This is a quite interesting piece of land, since whoever lives on this spot will be a few minutes away from the city of Chania, Souda, but also the villages and beautiful beaches of Apokoronas. Kalami is just next to the archeological site of Aptera. The archaeological site of Aptera, near the plots at Kalami Ancient Aptera was founded on the low hill of Paliokastro, in a place that remains unique for its natural beauty, with the beautiful bay of Souda in the north and the imposing mountain range of the White Mountains in the south. The strategic position of the city with its two ports, Minoa (today's Marathi) and Kissamos (near today's Kalyves) at the entrance of the natural bay, which ensured the possibility of control over the movement of trade, favored its development. For this reason, the historian G. Svoronos characterized it as the most commercial city of Crete and in its heyday, one of the most powerful. The earthquake of 364/5 AD marked its decline and finally, the next strong earthquake, of the 7th c. AD its final abandonment as a city. The foundation - before 1182 - of the small monastery of Agios Ioannis the Theologian, owned by the Monastery of Patmos until the 1960s, was in the center of the ancient city, while the castle, located at the northeastern end of the site, was built by Turkish conquerors in 1866. Shortly after the middle of the 4th century BC the city was fortified with a strong wall 3,480 m long, which surrounds the entire plateau of the hill. It's a really popular site for locals and tourist nowadays.
