In 1964 Anthony Quinn and the Oscar-winning film Zorbas the Greek came to shake up the waters in this quiet fishing village used for the filming of the film. Today, Stavros bears little resemblance to the deserted beach at that time, with the only possible exception being a rocky mass that remains intact and rises for several meters opposite the coast.If you attempt to follow the path that leads to the top of this rock, then you will discover the cave of the village and enjoy a unique panoramic view. Stavros has two beaches which are organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and refreshments. Around you will find several taverns, cafes and several small hotel units. Both beaches have crystal clear turquoise waters with the eastern one being ideal for children as it has shallow waters and is well protected from bad weather. The west beach is slightly quieter and, weather permitting, a great option. Don't leave if you don't take a walk on the small peninsula that separates the two beaches, as it houses the ruins of the Venetian quarry where the limestone was mined for the construction of the city walls of Chania. Nearby there are several well-known beaches such as Seitan Limenes, Tarsanas and others which are visited by many people in the summer. The area is developing and there are mainly luxury villas and large hotel units. The plot is next to a large hotel, at a distance of 140 meters from the sea, it has a building permit for a residence of 186 square meters, it has an unlimited view, and asphalt access. The distance from the center of Chania is around 20 minutes, from the port 15 minutes and from the airport 10 minutes.
