"Seli" is located about 60 km. southeast of Heraklion and 2 km .east of the settlement of Ano Viannos, right next to the Monument of Heroes in Amira Vianou.

Seli is an historical location with a tragic history in the village of Amira in the Municipality of Viannos, in the prefecture of Heraklion. The provincial memorial was built in 1966 in honour of the execution of 117 men in September 1943 by the German occupation troops.

From the new airport of Kastelli, (which is under construction and will be ready for operation in 5 years), Seli is about 20 km. away, which means that travellers need about 15 to 20 minutes to reach it by car. Route Map from New Airport - 20 km - 20 minutes.

If someone wants to board a bus from the KTEL of Heraklion to Seli, the itineraries are as follows: Monday to Saturdays 09:30 and 13:30. The KTEL bus stops right outside Seli, making the journey very easy.
