Our one of a kind, 19th century Cycladic house is situated adjacent to the square of Hora, in a cobblestone alley next to the neoclassical Town Hall building and the blue domed Church of Saint Athanassios. Serifos Hora is one of the most beautiful villages in the Cyclades. Located 5 km from the port and the tourist activity of the island, at the hilltop, where whitewashed cubical houses with blue shuttered windows cascade down the cliffs. With its breathtaking views, the house has a total surface of 52sq. meters, (approx. 560 sq. feet), one of the largest in the center of Hora/ the square, ( they usually are between 13-35sq. meters), is detached, made out of stone with thick walls measuring approx. 50-60cm (20-24"inches). It's of traditional Cycladic architecture, with aluminum frame windows and blue shutters, (including screens for mosquitos, etc), high ceilings ( 3meters - approx. 10 feet) covered with traditional wood beams interlaced with cane( see photos). ​ Completely renovated in 2018, keeping its character and layout. We also kept a staple of the times, an old wooden wardrobe in one of the rooms (see photo). There are two rooms- one master bedroom with built in double bed with storage, a living room with built in L-shape sitting area with storage, a kitchen with two arched openings connected to the living room, one serving as a doorway the other as a window, a bathroom with traditionally built in island style shower, and a storage area above the bathroom. The floor throughout the house is forged cement/beton cire (patiti tsimentokonia in Greek), a very special hand made technique used since the old days, with natural materials and eco friendly. It is smooth, durable, has an aesthetically appealing texture, seamless surface, great resistance to use, impacts, scratches and chemical products, waterproof, easy maintenance and cleaning, spaces free of germs and bacteria. The electricity and water supply is already hooked up and functioning. ​ The house has a serene and harmonious energy flow throughout, one can feel the love and light in the space. It is sold "as is", without fixtures, allowing for the lucky buyer to create hers/his/their own lifestyle design.
